The Leading in Community Settings Award has been uniquely designed for delivery through Primetime YLN.
The course covers all a Young Leader will need to work in community settings with other young people; utilising best practice from Youth Work practitioners. It has the flexibility for young people to decide what they submit for assessment according to their individual learning needs as assessment will be in the form of a portfolio, with pre-defined sections of what is to be evidenced and examples of what evidence can be provided. This will range from written reflections to photographic evidence and observation records.
Employability skills development will appear as a thread throughout the entire course rather than as a specific unit as skills such as confidence, problem solving and organisation will emerge throughout the practical aspects of the course.
The course is structured into three ‘levels’; Bronze, Silver and Gold, each with 6 hours classroom based delivery and 6 hours of practical experience. These will be structured as follows:
